About me
Prof. Saravanan Venkataraman is a distinguished academic and researcher with a profound background in computer science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Software Engineering.
He began his academic journey at the University of Madras, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1996. He went on to secure a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from Bharathiar University in 1999, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same institution in 2004. His doctoral research focused on automated and unified data mining using intelligent agents, a topic that continues to shape his research interests.
With over 25 years of experience in both teaching and research, Prof. Saravanan has made significant contributions to the field. He has authored more than 100 publications in highly-regarded international journals indexed by Scopus and ISI, among others, and supervised 18 PhD students. A prolific presenter, he has also shared his work at numerous national and international conferences. His expertise extends to mentorship, and he has successfully guided many researchers in their pursuit of Ph.D. degrees.
Throughout his career, he has held several key leadership positions, including:

- Dean, Computer Studies, Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore
- Vice Principal (Academic), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai
Prof. Saravanan’s contributions also include successfully completing two funded research projects with Majmaah University and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, totaling $41,500.
He is a recognized member of several professional societies, including a Senior Member of IEEE, and a life member of the Computer Society of India, the Indian Society for Technical Education, the Indian Association of Research in Computing Sciences, and the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology.
